On Christmas Eve, a vicar’s daughter runs into the
Devil himself, or is he just the Lord of Misrule?
About the Book: After causing a scandal in London, Lord Forthhurst is
headed home to make amends when he becomes stranded in the tiny village of
Little Macclow on Christmas Eve. Before the night is over, he has become
thoroughly entangled in the village celebration of the Twelve Days of
Christmas, and fully intrigued by the vicar’s daughter.
Cassie
Tamworth has been raised to expect the worst from members of the aristocracy. Can
Lord Forthhurst be the love of her life? Or is he a devil, as he claims?
Our Review: With a somewhat slow beginning to this story, it’s worth
the time to read each page in order to grasp this author’s talent for
description of the Regency era’s rigid rules and social mores. Adding to this are
the colorful descriptions of the individual celebrations involved with 12th
Night. Adam Randall may be the devil he claims, but his playful, imaginative
side brings a lightness into Cassie’s dim outlook for a future filled with
adventure and happiness.
Based on a scale of 1-5, Lord
of Misrule earns a 4.5.
