… He came
looking for solitude. He might leave after finding love…
If
Only for Today, a contemporary sweet
romance, is a current release for the Deerbourne Inn series out of the Wild
Rose Press.
Xander
Fortier, has no fear when it comes to documenting the ravages brought on by war
or famine and the ever popular man’s inhumanity to man. But when it comes down to
making time to write his first and likely last book, peace eludes him. Then he
meets Jared Langford, caring and devoted clerk at the Deerbourne Inn, who takes
care of Xander from their first meeting.
If
opposites attract is an axiom as old as time, it suits these two down to their
quirks and foibles. Jaren loves show tunes and is drawn to rescuing strays—the two
and four footed kind. Xander is . . .
not. As both struggle to overcome past traumas, they find something new
and exciting with each other. But is today enough?
Our
Review: Rarely do we have time to read
a book in one sitting. Not this time. If Only for Today drew us in from
the first line. We kept turning those pages to learn the secrets hiding beneath
the surface of these two charmers—as we’re sure readers of romance, gay or
straight, will do with this lovely addition to the Deerbourne Inn series. Author
Grey has paid homage to the elegant Inn, the lovely Vermont town, and it’s
quirky residents in an understated and intriguing manner. It makes us want to
find Willow Springs and spend an afternoon at the local café, enjoying the
baked treats. This is a beauty of a story. Do not miss it.
On a scale of 1-5, If Only
for Today deserves a 7.
